The Ohnward Fine Arts Center in Maquoketa will hold Auditions for Disney’s “Moana, Jr.” on Thursday, June 30. Auditions will be held at the center from 10am to 12pm and then 1p-2p. Male and female Students from ages 8 to 18 can audition. The cost for kids to participate is $50.

The Tri-State Wind Symphony’s Free Thursday Night Band Concert by the River will be held at 7p at the  Alliant -STAR Amphitheater at  600 Star Brewery Drive, Dubuque. (Rain site for all concerts: Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2155 University Avenue.)

Friday, July 1

Carnegie-Stout Public Library welcomes solo artist Brion Bowman for a live Music @ your library concert on Friday, July 1, in the third floor auditorium. Doors open at 5:30 p. and the concert begins at 6p. This event is free and open to the public. Adults age 21 and older may bring their own wine or beer.

The Dubuque Regional Airport Open House will be held Saturday, July 2 from 3:30p-5:30pm at the old tarmac. Meet the pilots and see the aircraft in this year’s airshow. This is a free event but donations will be accepted at the Veteran’s Freedom Center display.

The Farley Fire Department and EMS Picnic and Fireworks will begin at 3p on Saturday, July 2 on Main Street. Admission is free. The Matt McPherson Band will play from 4p to 8p and The Cody Hicks Band from 8p to 12:30a. They’ll have kids games and rides, drawing and raffles. Fireworks and dusk.

Monday, July 4

The Mathias Ham Historic Site is celebrating Independence Day with the Audrey Hammer 4th of July Ice Cream Social from 11a- 4p at their location on Lincoln Ave. in Dubuque. Taka a free tour of the historic Ham House, the Humke one-room school, the replica lead mine, and the Arriandeau log cabin. More information available at  rivermuseum.com/hamsite.

The annual Kieler Church Picnic will be held July 4 from 11a to 4p at Immaculate Conception Church. The dinner will be carry-out only with drive thru available. Outdoor activities include: Music, bingo and other games.

Wesley United Methodist Church, 1 Wesley Way in East Dubuque, will host their Backyard Bash event on Wednesday, July 6, at 6p in the backyard behind the church next to Dunleith pool. This is a free family event for all ages with food, ice cream and popcorn.

Friday & Saturday, July 8-9

The Combat Veteran’s Chapter 39-3 APR Ride and Cruise events will be happening Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9.  The ride begins at the Elkport Campground in Elkport, IA.  All proceeds used to assist NE Iowa Veterans, Veterans Organizations and Veteran’s families. The Annual Julyfest will be held Sunday, July 10 at the St. Joseph’s Church Parish Grounds in Farley. Festivities include a Polka Mass at 9:30a, Parade at 11:00a, a tractor and vehicle display and an auction at 12:30p.

Divine Word College Seminary in Epworth, Iowa is hosting its Annual Benefit Golf Outing Friday, July 22 at Timberline Golf Course. Cost per golfer is $80 and includes golf with cart, prizes and steak dinner. Friday-Sunday, September 9th – 11th

Platteville Dairy Days events are going on all weekend long.  Friday showcases a flea market, amusement rides and beer tent. The parade down Main Street on Saturday morning is followed by a dairy cattle show at Legion Park.  Check out the arts and crafts fair and plenty of “fair food”! Evenings are filled with truck and tractor pulls, and live music.  Come back Sunday for the dairy goat show and music on the Main Stage.

The 17th Annual Glimmer of Hope Fundraiser will be held Thursday, October 27 at the Dubuque Golf and Country Club, 1800 Randall Pl. All proceeds go to supporting the Dubuque Community Y’s Crisis Services Shelter – an eight-room, 20-bed shelter for those who are fleeing a life of domestic violence, human sex trafficking, or sexual assault.
